Gallowgate Artwork

The project comprises a new artwork on Gallowgate. The artwork was installed as part of the construction of a new supermarket
development.

The work is made from around 7 tonnes of steel. There are 6 frames containing 35 panels, a number of which contain images relating to the cultural context of Calton. The colour of the panels has been influenced by the local shop fronts with the scale and rhythm of the work designed to reflect its location on a main entry point to the city.
