Stobhill Hospital

Stobhill Hospital
2009
ASA Listed Building 2009 Our New Stobhill Hospital project is one of two new outpatients facilities for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which are being procured
under PPP. The hospital represents the first of its kind in Scotland. The ethos behind the project is that the patient comes first: all medical tests and consultations will be carried out on the same day on the same site if possible, and if a medical procedure is required, the patient will be given a fixed appointment date there and then.

Working with Balfour Beatty Construction Ltd, Glasgow Healthcare Facilities Ltd and NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde our new Stobhill
Hospital is a hospital containing over 20 departments. Accommodating general day surgery, ENT, gynaecology, urology, renal dialysis as well as outpatient clinics, diagnostic services and therapy care, the hospital is part of a major PFI project.

The new Stobhill Hospital, part of the existing Stobhill Hospital campus in a semi-rural location adjacent to Springburn Park in North
Glasgow, will serve over 2,000 patients a day. The design has been carefully developed to provide a supportive framework throughout the patient journey. The architectural concept is supported by an ambitious Scottish Arts Council arts programme lead by the poet Thomas A Clark.  Building work began in November 2006 and the hospital will be treating patients by May 2009.
