Young House

Planning approval for the Young House was obtained by Malcolm Fraser Architects (MFA) in December 2002, after a contentious process culminating in a landmark planning committee decision granted on the casting vote of the chairman. Frustratingly, the adjacent site (also with an approved scheme by MFA) was sold and the project went on hold. Our client resurrected the proposal in 2004 by which time MFA had a very demanding workload and was unable to commit the resources necessary to realise the building. MFA referred the client to CiAO, who was appointed to take the proposal forward.
