Central Quay edges forward in a fresh round of consultations

A 4.43-acre site in the heart of Glasgow will play host to a major mixed-use development helmed by 3DReid Architects in the latest vision for Central Quay, Anderston.

Property developer Summix Capital is preparing plans for hundreds of homes for private sale as well as office space and student accommodation with ground floor commercial uses.

Planning permission in principle has already been granted for a mixed-use build with Summix progressing these plans via a public consultation, launching on 24 November between 14:00 and 19:00 at 2 Central Quay.

A Summix Capital representative said: “The site has lain derelict for a considerable period of time, and its redevelopment will be a welcome addition to the community. As a company, we are committed to pursuing a Net Zero Carbon strategy by 2030, and this development will be in accordance with this."

The southern element of the Keppie masterplan is well underway having been sold to build to rent specialists Platform_.

Good luck to those who will end up living in a motorway junction.
