Outdoor learning comes to the fore at £16m Milltimber Primary

Aberdeen City Council has taken possession of the £16m Milltimber Primary School from Robertson Construction.

Part of the Oldfold Farm development the Scott Brownrigg designed replacement school has a capacity of 434 pupils plus 60 early learning and childcare places.

Situated on the western outskirts of the city the school provides 14 classrooms arranged around four flexible 'learning plazas' to facilitate play, relaxation and study.

An outdoor learning space also provides opportunity to learn about food production with pupils encouraged to plant crops as part of a small orchard, promoting healthy eating and environmental awareness.

Milltimber leads three other new and replacement schools throughout the city at Countesswells, Riverbank and Torry which are due to be complete next year.
