Ross Hall Hospital makes an entrance with planned extension

New plans have emerged at the hands of BMI Healthcare and Ikon Architects for the creation of a new theatre suite and entrance extension at Ross Hall Hospital, Glasgow.

Dovetailing with an approved application to re-clad the main building the latest plans entail a remodelling of the current layout to connect with the planned extension, alleviating pressure on services.

Connecting the hospital to the B-listed Ross Hall House the feature orange entrance extension aims to improve access and appearance with light and dark grey cladding panels matching the planned re-clad of the main hospital building and orange panels reflecting the Baronial style former mansion.

In a design statement, the applicant wrote: "The proposed new entrance canopy gives the necessary presence and gravitas to the Hospital’s main entrance assisting in providing easy of direction and wayfinding for both patients & visitors that could help reduce anxiety that may be present when approaching the hospital."

The 7m tall overhang canopy connects directly to existing theatres, reception and waiting area.

Yikes! A Revit 3D Orthogonal view is rarely a good look. Is this the best view available UR?

Noone will see it anyway as noone can get parked. They should concentrate on that and chaos of crookston road pavement parking instead of cladding
