Work begins on Clydebank Bowling Club homes

Clydebank Housing Association has commenced delivery of 18 homes for social rent on a former bowling green in the town.

The JR Group has moved on-site at Clydebank Bowling Club on John Knox Street for the £3.2m build, which comprises a mix of one and two-bedroom flats - two of which will be adapted for wheelchair users.

Lynette Lees, Chief Executive of Clydebank Housing Association, said: “This development is in the heart of our area of operation, and we already have properties in the immediate vicinity and this proposed development will be a valued addition to our housing stock.”

A design team including Mast Architects, Cowal Design and Carbon Futures have had a hand in the project.

The bowling club will continue to operate on a reduced site.

The pavilion looks rather like a school in one of the poorest countries in Africa.
