Newton Mearns apartments set for completion

Windex has released a development of six main door apartments in Newton Mearns designed by Convery Prenty Architects.

Two blocks are being built on the site of the former Abbeyfield care home at the junction between Eaglesham Road and Kirkiew Crescent, each split horizontally between penthouse and garden flats.

Faced in white render with projecting split face stone window bays and inset private terraces within the roof the flats will be set amidst newly landscaped grounds with two parking spaces allotted per apartment.

Located close to the Avenue shopping centre apartments will stretch up to 2,234sq/ft with upper-level flats including scope for future installation of a home lift.

Completion is expected later this summer.

First-floor penthouses? Radical.

Looking at the tiny floorplan on Rightmove for £695,000! Eh no thanks!

Sorry #2 George - i don’t know what training you have had in your career - but you do realise “the wee plan” on Rightmove is NOT full size?
A 221 sq m flat is not too shabby - unless you are THE George - as in yer Da is Prince William.

Just to be clear #3, you think £695,000 for a 3 bedroom suburban flat is fine? Plus 60 sq m is circulation space - downstairs generally a waste of space.

Looking at the external images, it's quite surprising that these are split lower/uppers. Whilst the ceilings don't appear to be coombed, they definitely have that 'attic conversion' feel.

I agree that the concept of a one up penthouse is ridiculous. And in the flesh they are hard up to what is quite a busy road. Currently the sign says “Only 4 left”. Well there are only six so it should say “Only 2 sold”

Wrong on every count.

I said nothing about location, design or price.

I just said they were not small.

I wonder if the sold ones are the nice Top floor Penthouses?
