Dramatic Renfrew to Yoker twin-leaf bridge set for summer start

Preparatory works are to begin this summer on the delivery of an innovative 'twin leaf' bridge designed by Kettle Collective.

Graham Construction has been chosen to deliver the ambitious build, a flagship project under the Glasgow City Deal to connect Renfrew with Clydebank and Yoker.

Subcontractors are now being sought via public Contracts Scotland to help deliver all aspects of the build from concrete and piling to catering.

Renfrewshire Council leader Iain Nicolson said: “The new infrastructure will connect communities to amenities on both sides of the Clyde and help to transform the waterfront, the improved access appealing to developers over the coming years."

When complete the bridge will provide combined access for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians, connecting to riverside walking and cycling routes and a new road linking to a new manufacturing district next to Glasgow Airport.
