302 affordable homes delivered across Aberdeen

Hillcrest Homes has completed 302 homes split across two separate developments in Aberdeen, boosting the provision of affordable housing in the city.

172 apartments built by Robertson partnership Homes have been delivered at Harris Drive with a further 130 flats joining them at a sister development by Stewart Milne Homes off Abbotswell Road, all delivered with the support of Aberdeen City Council.

Delivered at a combined cost of £36.4m the dual location build focuses on high-performance insulation with smart meters provided as standard to help keep the energy bills of tenants in check. Occupiers will also benefit from Juliet balconies and landscaped amenity areas.

Matt Collins, managing director, Robertson Partnership Homes, commented: “The new high-quality homes are equipped for the future and tenants will not only benefit from the energy efficiency that has been built-in but from the creation of a new community garden, the layout of which is based on a design by a student at Robert Gordon University."

Stewart Milne Homes North land director, Richard Fawcus adds: “The high-quality properties at Abbotswell, which was formerly a derelict brownfield site, have transformed and regenerated this part of the city and now offer a terrific place to live with green space and landscaping that blends in with the neighbouring Duthie Park, as well as views of the River Dee."

Abbotswell Rd was designed by Mackie Ramsay Taylor Architects with St Machar led by Halliday Fraser Munro. All properties will be offered for social rent with 35 homes available at mid-market rent.
