Diageo welcome the New Year with a whisky taster

Diageo has offered a first glimpse inside a whisky themed visitor attraction spanning seven floors at Princes Street, focussed on a dramatic rooftop bar.

The Johnnie Walker Centre will see Simpson & Brown transform a former department store on behalf of the drinks giant in time for the tourism season next summer, wooing visitors with skyline views.

General manager Barbara Smith said: "We are delighted to be able to offer people a first small taste of what is to come at Johnnie Walker Princes Street.

"As well a building a whisky experience like no other, we are also creating incredible hospitality and events spaces that will become a landmark destination for people from Edinburgh, Scotland and around the world."

Included within the Princes Street venue will be a sensory tasting room where visitors can indulge in a dram or two and a training academy, all capped by a rooftop bar and outdoor terrace.
