Covid-hit Leith apartment complex springs back to life

MNM Developments have resumed construction of a £12m development of 77 apartments at West Bowling Green Street, Leith, following a pandemic pause.

First conceived by EMA Architects, with Hackland + Dore as delivery architect, Tayworks will comprise a mix of 63 flats for sale and a further 14 apartments offered by Places for People as affordable housing.

Marc Teague, managing director at MNM Developments, commented: “We were just breaking ground at The Tayworks site when Covid-19 hit. Despite the pause in operations, construction is now back underway, and the response so far has been brilliant.

“Leith is an increasingly popular area to live and work, and there’s been a great deal of redevelopment in this area in the last decade. It was also named one of the coolest places to live recently by Time Out so we’re confident these properties will sell quickly."

Completion is expected by October 2021.
