Covid-proof Bothwell townhouses feature home cinemas and gyms

Mansion Kingdom Homes have launched a collection of modern townhouses at Glebe Wynd, Bothwell, spread across four blocks.

Designed by IIxII Architects the development of 12 terraced properties each includes integral projecting garages with balconies above, to make the most of the valley site.

Featuring terraced gardens and balconies the sandstone properties will provide four floors of accommodation stretching to around 4,000sq/ft and include high-end features such as a home cinema and gym.

In a statement, the developer wrote: "The design of the four-storey townhouses creates an exciting exchange with the surrounding dwellings whilst energising residential living in this more traditional area. The design intent was led by the idea of creating a place where nature and architecture entwine.

"The whole scheme is divided into four distinctive blocks offering expansive four storey, 4 bedroom spaces. The design of the individual terraces and gardens weave all the units together, binding them as a community without disturbing their privacy."

Branded as The Glades the development won final planning approval from South Lanarkshire Council last year.

In what way are these 'covid proof'? Is it the front terraces that are immediately adjacent to each other?...

#5 It's simple. You must be sick to buy one, so if everyone got it, you can't got it more. From marketing perspective it's genius - younameit-proof.

"creating a place where nature and architecture entwine" - a pretty fair description of how they have completely devastated a large woodland valley at the end of a suburban street to build a series of nondescript £800k townhouses which are half-buried into the ground. But hey, South Lanarkshire planners and "aspirational" Bothwellian's will buy anything...

Yes I too like nothing more than al fresco supping of my breakfast juice (or tonic wine) whilst basking in the total shade of a typical Scottish summer morning (or evening) and admiring the aesthetics of my expensive non descript gable end. Perfect for a footballers wife who loves entertaining whilst a loved one slogs it out on foreign soil just to pay the mortgage.

I presume that being covid proof also means that they are 5G proof? (sarcasm)

I see neo Stalinist is back in fashion.
Really poor design -- the budget surely could have stretched to a bit of depth and detailing?
