Twin apartment buildings to rise on Edinburgh's Willowbrae Rd
CDA Architects have filed for planning permission to build 48 apartments over two buildings, with one commercial unit fronting onto Willowbrae Road, Edinburgh.

Situated in the city's Northfield district the development would sit on the former site of 'The Radical Road Bar', delivering a mix of one to three-bedroom homes on behalf of Evantyr Properties and MNM Developments.

In a statement, the practice wrote: "Surface car parking is provided at lower ground floor level, three of which are undercroft. Two accessible parking bays are located near the site entrance.

"This walled development provides a mix of private gardens, shared communal gardens, private balconies and roof terraces to provide the residents with good quality amenity space."

Wardell Armstrong are undertaking landscape design on the build with Harley Haddow serving as structural engineer.

Modern architecture at its best. Simplified, elegant and organized

Yup, so simple the intern probably came up with it before lunch.
Massive, dismal, petrol station style forecourt dominates all. A couple of token shrubs and some car park plants border paths that rush one into boring overpriced standard boxes with token balconies for dusty bikes.
Yawn.
