The JR Group has handed over 48 new homes to the Link Group at Dumbarton Road, Old Kilpatrick.

The energy-efficient homes for social rent, include a mix of one- and two-bedroom properties over two six-storey blocks. They also include ground-floor units which are fully wheelchair accessible. Located on the former site of Dalnottar House across from Forth & Clyde Canal, the site was previously used for industrial purposes and was home to a steel fabrication unit.

Andrew Dallas, projects director for The JR Group, said: “We were incredibly proud to help our client visualise it as a great place to live, creating warm, energy-efficient homes, fit for the future."

As well as the new homes, there is appropriate parking, a new access point, as well as communal open space and soft landscaping including a central courtyard area between the two blocks of flats to create a strong sense of community.

You can tell why Andrew Dallas is so 'incredibly proud.' Just look at the imagination that has gone into the design. It almost looks like they employed an architect.

MAST were the architects behind this design and it is an improvement on what they initially proposed (I know, I know) which resembled a prison/detention facility. Looks like the green courtyard has been paved over tho.....
