New homes to expand a Perthshire village

A bid to deliver 29 homes at Powmill, Perthshire, has been made by Eolas Architects on behalf of Kera and Kingdom Housing Association.

The phase one plan, ahead of a further 17 houses to be delivered at a later date, the initial element of the masterplan is earmarked for a former hotel car park and field off an existing junction from the A977.

A quarter of available properties will be marketed for mid-market rent, including a mix of terraces and semi-detached bungalows.

In a planning statement, Eolas Architects wrote: "Phase 1 will be accessed via a new road from the existing junction to the A977 to the east. This road forms the proposed streetscape for the development and has also been designed to allow the continuation of the development and extensions of the roads into the future phase 2 area.

"The road connects in a loop allowing travel around the residential development and avoiding cul-de-sacs and dead-end streets."

Formed from render blockwork with reconstituted stone detailing the properties all include south-facing roof mounted solar panels.

Pic no2 - so much wall. Why put the parking spaces in front of the windows rather than the big bit of wall? It would save a bit of paving and temptation to a shortcut across the grass.
