Urban infill Cathcart project to deliver 55 apartments

Westpoint Homes have launched the Ascent, a development of 55 apartments at Greenholme Street, Cathcart by Barton Willmore and Haus Collective.

The urban infill project delivers three matching apartment blocks of up to five storeys on a 0.55ha brownfield site, all set within communal landscaped grounds overseen by Keith Wood.

All apartments share a common floorplan with upper-level properties featuring Juliette balconies with a galvanised metal balustrade. Ground floor apartments will be bounded by a 2-4m privacy strip with an 18m gap between opposing windows.

A common materials palette of red brick, cladding panels and cast stone string courses and lintels will unify each block.

Featuring roof-mounted photovoltaic panels the development will comply with Silver Active building regulations and Gold for carbon emissions standards.

Honking -- liquorice allsort colour scheme.
Really poor design made worse by the colour bands.

Barton Willmore and Haus Collective have really shown where they are on the creativity front here. This must have really taxed them. I can't imagine how many minutes went into the design of this development. Not many. Poor Keith Wood really has his work cut out. How will he cope with planting five trees and a hedge?

@#3, I think that's a bit unfair. There are at least 7 trees. There is also a bench.
