Campion Homes and Fife Council have enlisted Oliver + Robb Architects (ORA) to deliver 30 affordable homes in Springfield, Fife.

A mix of family homes and amenity bungalows are planned for agricultural land at Manse Road to the southwest of the village.

A low-density approach will see the existing street frontage extended with a new loop road opening up access to the land beyond. Homes will be finished in white dry-dash render with grey reconstituted split face stone used for feature details and a base course.

In a concept statement, the architects wrote: "ORA propose that the site layout and house designs reflect the linear street patterns of Springfield and address the scale, mass and vernacular of the village in a contemporary fashion with an emphasis placed on the inclusion of traditional gable ends which are a strong feature throughout the village."

Proposals include a village green connected to an existing playpark by way of an un-adopted gravel link footpath.
