Aberdeen breaks ground on over 500 council houses at Bridge of Don

Aberdeen City Council has commenced the delivery of 536 council homes on a 56-acre site at Cloverhill, after buying out the original private scheme by HBD and Wraith to meet housing targets.

Part of a broader housebuilding programme the authority has appointed HBD (part of Henry Boot Group) as development manager for the project, situated to the north of the city between Bridge of Don and Aberdeen Beach.

A mix of flats, semi-detached and terraced houses are planned under a Halliday Fraser Munro masterplan that also makes provision for community facilities, retail, green space and leisure.

The energy-efficient estate will include electric vehicle charging points for 25% of the site initially with the infrastructure in place to bring that to 100% at a later date.

Phase one works are scheduled to begin later this month with the first homes handed over to the council in summer 2023.
