Tullis Russell masterplan moves ahead with 97 Glenrothes homes

Fife Council is in possession of plans by Oliver + Robb Architects to deliver 97 homes and apartments on the site of the former Tullis Russell Paper Mill, Glenrothes, as part of a masterplan to revitalise the town.

Rising on the site of a demolished water treatment facility off Cadham Road the homes will rise on 3.64 hectares of land with provision for 267 parking spaces.

Led by Campion Homes the project forms part of a much larger 850-home development for the brownfield site and includes a mix of townhouses, terraces and detached homes.

In a statement, the architect wrote: "The development will provide a positive and active frontage to Cadham Road with a variation in building lines offering visual interest as well as aligning with what is already present on the north side of the road. The principal road connection through the site from Cadham Road, as well as the other internal roads, will have trees and hedgerows included adjacent to them to enhance the overall quality of development.

A potential footpath link from the southern edge of the site was not considered feasible owing to the topography of the land and the impact on natural heritage.
