New homes unlock Dunbar Golf Club expansion

Dunbar Golf Club is to benefit from a brand new £3.6m clubhouse alongside a nine-hole course and upgraded facilities enabled by a residential development of 78 homes.

Plans filed by CALA Homes (East) and G1 Architects show a new clubhouse designed to blend into the coastal landscape, joined by a golf academy, driving range and greenkeeper facilities.

Jacky Montgomery, PGA Director of Golf at Dunbar Golf Club, said: “From the driving range and academy, through to the short game practice area and the Par 3 golf course, we are breaking down barriers into the game. It will also give us much greater scope to further develop the work we do with our local schools and community groups.”

Enabling this investment will be 60 new homes to the south of the site, towards Deer Park Cemetery with a further 18 homes earmarked for a second northern phase, on land occupied by the current clubhouse.

The nine-hole par-three course is designed by RAW Golf Design

From the scheme layout impression looks as if Cala adopting their usual tired lazy format with no ambition to inspire. If only it gave one per cent of the design effort Gareth Hoskins gave to its CEOs house at Braids our built environment would be a much better place
