Cumbernauld golf course earmarked for housing development

Land at Dullatur Golf Course, Cumbernauld, has been earmarked for new housing by Hallam Land Management, helping to fund investment by the club in new facilities.

A mix of private and affordable housing is planned for the site by Barton Willmore Architects under a proposal of application notice filed with North Lanarkshire Council.

Gary Smith, director, Hallam Land Management, said: "This exciting development provides the perfect opportunity to bring more family housing to the area and deliver economic benefits, such as construction jobs, to the local community.

"We are consulting extensively to ensure that that the public have an opportunity to input their views and shape our proposals. We encourage the community to attend and ask any questions they may have."

A dedicated project website is scheduled to go live at 09:00 tomorrow where the plans will be fleshed out in full with members of the project team on hand to field questions between 11:00 and 19:00 on Wednesday, 12 May.

Another great CDC / Development Corporation idea bites the dust.

Big area -- housing given over to 50% of the area would be a workable compromise.

Plus some extra parking for the station would be good.
