Broomielaw office expansion hits planning

ZM Architecture has authored plans to build a four-storey extension to offices at 40 Carrick Street, Glasgow, comprising open-plan floorplates and an escape stair.

Rising above a ground floor car park screened by perforated steel the glass curtain wall extension will be finished in aluminium composite panelling.

Delivered by Bell Building projects on behalf of the Gap Group the project will adjoin an existing stairwell which will be extended through a new third-floor stair and landing with lift access.

Each floor will offer 215sq/m of open plan accommodation.

The build would stand alongside a 200,000sq/ft office block designed by Mosaic at Carrick Square

Plans are in place for a new pedestrian link between Brown Street and Carrick Street
