Ayr amenity flats submitted for planning approval

Ashleigh Building and Denham/Benn are seeking planning permission in principle to build 39 amenity flats and 32 parking bays in Ayr town centre.

Replacing a disused warehouse and yard on the corner of Green Street and North Harbour Street the development will have open aspects to the River Ayr.

Designed to complement existing homes in the North Harbour area the development will hug the street with a three-storey frontage and include a communal garden for residents.

In a planning statement, the architect wrote: "The proposed development aims to complement the existing residential stock in the North Harbour area to provide much needed residential affordable accommodation. Infilling the open frontage to North Harbour street will enhance the streetscape."

Proposed buildings will employ a mix of brick to reflect the diverse nature of surrounding development.
