Dubai dreaming

September 16 2008

With construction drying up across the UK some architects are setting their sights on the fantastical spires of exotic climes.  This group can now count influential architect Adrian Welch amongst their number.

Speaking to Architecture Scotland, Adrian said: “I was laid off with four others from Michael Laird Architects and am due to head off to Dubai to work on some amazing projects.”

Michael Laird Architects advised that one architect had left to pursue different projects.  The remaining four staff being agency workers, stating: "We're holding up better than most."

The news follows a run of job losses in the sector recently.
