Construction underway on 230 Cambuslang homes

Construction has begun on phase 2 of the East Whitlawburn Regeneration Project in Cambuslang following three months of demolition work.

Led by South Lanarkshire Council with Stallan-Brand Architects and CCG the project will deliver 230 homes for social rent and an additional 81 properties for private sale as part of a £42m regeneration programme.

Danny Lowe, executive director, housing and technical resources at South Lanarkshire Council said: “The commencement of the regeneration of East Whitlawburn is fantastic news for the local residents and the wider Cambuslang area. This major investment will transform the area and reinforces the council’s commitment to providing additional, affordable, modern homes while improving the area for the local community.”

The new homes will become ready for occupation from March 2021.

Good to see future maintenance designed out by providing bricked up windows at conception

As far as the locals re aware the plans are not finalised due to inadequate parking spaces, so how can you knock down buildings if your plans are not clear and indeed passed all scrutiny and authority for all phases?
