Aberdeen Council house building programme gathers pace

Aberdeen City Council has completed work on the second phase of its Manor Walk council housing project in Heathryfold.

Fifty of eighty planned homes have now been completed at the £13m development which offers a mix of one-bedroom flats through to four-bedroom homes for social let.

Council co-leader Douglas Lumsden said: “Our council house build programme is the biggest in half a century and we are continuing to upgrade the existing stock.

“Providing decent, affordable homes is a central part of our economic growth strategy, allowing us to attract and retain key workers and making Aberdeen a city where all can prosper.”

Built by Bancon Construction following a competitive tender Manor Walk has been designed by Hypostyle Architects.
