Glasgow Airport Hotel cleared for take off

Dexter Moren Associates have been cleared to begin work on a new hotel within Glasgow Airport Business Park, offering an additional 196 bedrooms.

Finished in reconstituted stone cladding with multi-coloured glazed curtain walls and polyester powder coated metal the five storey hotel is a similar length to the adjacent Courtyard by Marriott hotel but breaks down this scale through a series of contrasting protruding bays.

DMA partner Herbert Lui said: "Our client, Cairn Group, saw an opportunity to meet demand for guestrooms in this location with a high-quality new building. Our contemporary approach is sympathetic in scale and massing to the context. The building is on a site that already benefits from established infrastructure.

“The hotel will bring investment to the area and generate opportunities for local employment. It is also designed to meet the safeguarding requirements stipulated by Glasgow Airport authorities."

Dexter Moren have previously delivered the Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Express at Aberdeen Airport.
