Twin health centres to break ground in Greenock and Stobhill

BAM Construction is to move on-site to deliver a planned new Greenock Health Centre later this month, in parallel with delivery of a mental health campus within the grounds of Stobhill Hospital.

The £19m Greenock Health Centre has been designed by Hoskins Architects to unite four existing GP practices with dental, podiatry and outpatient clinics as well as a community café.

Situated on the site of the former Wellington Academy it is scheduled to open in 2020.

Keppie Design meanwhile are taking the lead on an £8.5m mental health campus at Stobhill which will provide residential care for acute admissions as well as complex clinical care for patients.

Bruce Dickson, regional director, BAM Construction commented, “These are complex buildings and it’s taken us several years of working with our consultants, hub West and the NHS to make sure that the design of these projects achieves all of the NHS’s objectives for 21st Century healthcare provision. Our team is now really looking forward to getting construction started.”
