Merchant City garment factory a perfect fit for Threesixty
A B listed clothing factory in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City on the corner of Ingram and Montrose Street’s has been transformed into 47,382sq/ft of office space and retail, following its refurbishment by Morgan McDonnell Architecture.

Amongst The Garment Factory’s first tenants is Threesixty Architecture who have taken the entirety of the upper floor of the block, comprising 8,374sq/ft, following its £6m transformation delivered by ISG and PMP on behalf of Castleforge Partners.

This has seen original features such as exposed ceilings, steel, brickwork, flooring and staircases retained alongside contemporary new additions such as a new lobby, lifts, café and break-out space.

Guy Morgan of Morgan McDonnell Architecture said:  “It has been a privilege to work on the revitalisation of this Victorian mercantile gem. We have been able to liberate the original layout and character of the building, which had been hidden under years of unsympathetic alterations and subdivisions. We are very proud of the 21st century office and retail environment we have managed to create within.”

Two new retail/restaurant units have been created on both frontages offering covered outdoor seating and a three-level spiral staircase. A basement area has been given over to washing facilities, cycle storage, an events space, games room and communal kitchen.
