52 affordable homes promised for Camlachie
West of Scotland Housing Association is to progress plans for 52 affordable homes in Glasgow’s east end as part of efforts to regenerate the Camlachie area of the city.

Plans for the site, located on the junction of Fielden and Barrowfield Street, are still being drawn up by an as yet unnamed architect but a ‘strong focus on design’ is promised along with a mix of properties.

WSHA Chief Executive, Lynne Donnelly said: “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue our regeneration work in Barrowfield. The site has excellent potential to welcome many new families and individuals and the development will provide an immediate visual impact for residents. We look forward to working with the local community to provide housing which meets their needs.”

Fielden Street follows on from the delivery of 18 amenity homes within the Barrowfield Estate plus a further 200 homes on the Gallowgate and Games Village with a further 500 in the pipeline.

This latest development will get underway in June 2018.
