CCG launch 18 home Stenhousemuir development
Off-site manufacturing specialist’s CCG have unwrapped 18 homes for social rent within the former Larbert Police Station and council registry office at Main Street, Stenhousemuir.

Built on behalf of Falkirk Council The Old Police Station takes the form of a new stone frontage built to replicate the old two storey Victorian façade with accessible one and two bedroom homes arranged behind this, each with lift access, on-site parking, gardens and drying areas.

Initial plans from Falkirk Council’s development services department had suggested the existing stone façade would be retained but a revised application saw this demolished and rebuilt using new locally sourced stone.

Alastair Wylie, CCG chairman and CEO, said: “We understand the significance of historical preservation due to the level of care required on site, as well as acknowledging the requirement to rejuvenate a popular local landmark so to deliver this project on time and on budget is an outstanding achievement.”

Built over 57 weeks using the construction specialist’s own closed panel timber frame system the properties were delivered to bronze active standards of thermal efficiency with zoned underfloor heating and solar PV panels.

All the disparaging comments on UR normally infuriate me, but monkey9000 has nailed it.
