214 homes on the cards for Edinburgh’s Bonington Village
Miller Homes have drawn up plans for a development of 214 homes arranged over five blocks at Bonington Village, Edinburgh, on a site presently occupied by warehousing.

Architects EMA aim to reinstate the building line with blocks ranging up to six storeys fronting a range of existing and internal streets in addition to semi-private spaces to the rear with public access also offered to the Water of Leith.

In their design statement the architects said: “The architectural style will be contemporary but materials chosen will reflect the sites rich industrial heritage. Red bricks echo the many mills, foundries and warehouses once located in the Bonington District and grey monoblock paviors reflect the cobbled streets which would have once prevailed.”

The scheme will be designed in accordance with Designing Streets with an expectation that neighbouring industrial properties will also make way for more housing in the fullness of time.

‘landscape' more like a Lidl car park.

Good to see irony is appreciated on this website. In future I'll put everything that is intended to be ironic in "inverted commas" - just to be clear.

Jesus wept...these aint internal 'streets' EMA, linear car parks perhaps.
It is however the usual over-developed, expressionless, lowest common denominator drivel spouted from your CAD database.
