Corstorphine retail development moves ahead
CDA have pressed ahead with a planning application to replace a parade of shops on St John’s Road, Corstorphine, with a new build 33,800sq/ft store and rooftop car park following conclusion of a public consultation.

In their design statement the architects said: “In keeping with the scale and massing of the surrounding buildings, the proposed development has been restricted to three storeys. A basement has been included, similar in proportions to the existing, to maximise the site topography.

“Materiality has been thoughtfully considered with the use of Accoya timber screens, pre-patinated zinc and sandstone to compliment and reflect the surrounding buildings and trees.”

Prepared on behalf of Realis Estates the scheme is expected to move on-site in the second quarter of next year for completion by the third quarter of 2017.
