July 7 2014studio pavilion and Art Park centre within a refurbished stables and dovecot at Bellahouston Park.
Designed by ZM Architecture the scheme has seen the outbuildings transformed into a research and education centre and opens with displays detailing shipbuilding, the 1938 Empire Exhibition and the architecture of Govan.
Inspired by Mackintosh’s enthusiasm for Japanese design and the painting studios at Glasgow School of Art the project creates a new pedestrianizes space between the main house and walled garden alongside ancillary services such as a new café.
The £3m project includes new build elements on the site of a former works depot to contemporary designs.
