Phase one of Edinburgh’s Varcity North completes
The first phase of a redevelopment of Edinburgh’s Telford College has completed with the release of 89 apartments at mid-market rents.

Developed by Miller Homes, who formed a limited liability partnership with City of Edinburgh Council and the Scottish Futures Trust, it  forms part of a National Housing Trust initiative to fast-track the delivery of such homes.

It will see the delivery of 327 new apartments in five new build blocks along with the possible conversion of the B listed art deco main college building.

Housing Minister, Margaret Burgess said: “These new homes at Varcity North will go some way towards providing much needed affordable rented accommodation for Edinburgh residents.

“The initiative has been hugely successful, with deals secured with 13 developers to deliver over 1000 high quality homes for families throughout Scotland at very little cost to the taxpayer.”
