Asda Barrhead plans go on show
August 1 2012
Asda claim the 25,000sq/ft store will be integrated to the town centre via a range of public realm, access and green space improvements.
Located on a Council owned plot adjacent to the town’s Main Street and the Levern Water the scheme will knit in with a proposed £3.8m extension to the Barrhead Sports Centre.
Lisa Rooke, Senior Property Communications Manager for Scotland, said: “The respondents clearly recognise the need for more supermarket choice in Barrhead and also the need for a low-cost shopping option.
“We are currently considering all the responses we receive and will be feeding these into our proposals before submitting a planning application to East Renfrewshire Council in the Autumn.”
A second community engagement event will take place on August 25 from 11am to 4pm at the Barrhead Sports Centre.
