Creative Spaces 2012 details revealed

Creative Spaces 2012 is an annual contest staged in Dundee which aims to provide students and their teachers from across Scotland with an interface between design, education and construction.
This will take the form of a series of workshops, presentations and model making toward the preparation of design proposals
Doug Binnie of Nicoll Russell Studios, chairman of the Creative Spaces Steering Group, will deliver the opening address preceding a series of workshops in which students.
He said: “The initial motivation for such a specific event was to use the knowledge, experience and expertise of those involved to help stimulate local school children to perhaps consider a career in the design related professions and/or in the construction industry, increase awareness of their own potential whilst raising and improving the general profile of the construction industry.”
A host of industry professionals will be on hand to give presentations throughout the day; including Mel Shepherd of Construction Skills, Chris Ashe of Dundee College and Fraser Middleton, president of the Dundee Institute of Architects.
Challenge 2012 will take place at Dundee College on May 2 from 08:55 to 16:30.
