November 23 2006

Peter Taylor, chairman of The Town House Company, has revealed that his firm is to spend £17 million transforming the former Royal Scottish Automobile Club in Glasgow into a five-star luxury hotel.

Speaking during a visit to the site in Blythswood Square, Mr Taylor said his company had purchased the building for £5 million, with £12 million intended for renovations.

The hotel will boast luxury suites, conference facilities, restaurants and bars, and will create 100 new jobs when it opens in March 2008.
