Perth & Kinross Council complete first new council homes in 20 years
Perth and Kinross Council have completed six new council homes in Lethen - the first to be completed within the wider local authority area since 1985.

The homes have now been handed over to the council by contractor Hadden Construction ahead of their occupation by tenants.

Cllr Barrett said: "There is an acute need for affordable housing in Perth and Kinross to help local families and as a Council we are working hard in a range of ways to bridge this gap and ensure people have roofs over their heads.

"This is an important step in our programme for building new Council housing in areas where the pressure on existing housing stock is greatest. Plans to develop more homes in Methven, Scone, Pitlochry and Alyth are well underway and we are also currently considering future proposals at present.”

£3.6m in funding for the development was provided by the Scottish Government and Council, money which will also finance 20 new homes in Methven and 10 in Perth.
