GIA launches Kilcreggan design competition

Open to UK and international architects and designers the competition carries a prize fund of £2,000 and is intended to boost tourism, retain young families and encourage employment opportunities by improving the local environment.
This entails setting out a 20 year roadmap for the village to identify how to provide “contemporary interventions, landscape and art” to complement the villages existing Victorian heritage.
A registration deadline has been set for May 27 with a community workshop and site visit for competing teams being staged on June 25 at Cove Burgh Hall.
Kilcreggan boasts a number of impressive mansions and castles from the likes of Alexander "Greek" Thomson, William Leiper and John Honeyman
Kilcreggan featured in a recent episode of Grand Designs which followed construction of Bl@st architects 'Moffat House'
