Carey Jones submit plans for massive Salford student housing estate
A planning application has been submitted by Manor Wharf Ltd for the erection of 1,091 bed student accommodation in Salford.

Rising to a maximum height of 20 storeys the development will incorporate a mix of office, café, gym and retail

Designed by Carey Jones architects, alongside MJM Consulting Engineers Ltd, the mammoth scheme will front the river Irwell. Clad in red brick with green metal panel inserts and feature projecting copper coloured metal panel pods.

A central courtyard will form the heart of the scheme, which is designed to enhance visual and physical connectivity with the surrounding University of Salford campus.

Previous Carey Jones student housing schemes, Opal and Sky Plaza in Leeds, haven't inspired an excess of confidence in some local observers however
A riverside walkway will be built as part of the plans
