Archial’s Djanogly Leisure Centre opens for business
A £6.4m leisure centre designed by Archial architects has opened its doors in Nottingham as part of the city’s ongoing Leisure Centre Transformation Programme.

The Djanogly Community Leisure Centre boasts a six lane, 25m pool, fitness suite, sauna and dance studio.

A key aspect of the design was to respect the privacy of neighboring residential properties and in this regard the centre incorporates obscured external glazing and integral blinds to all viewing windows.

Another requirement for the centre was to be visually harmonious with the neighbouring Norman Foster designed Djanogly City Academy by extending overhanging eaves and colonnade details into their own design and sharing a common car park.

The resulting amalgam is intended to serve as a community hub for local residents.
