British Council for Offices unveil regional winners
BDP have found themselves recipient of three awards, from a total of five, at a ceremony yesterday marking the British Council for Offices Scotland region awards.

The wins came in the categories of Best Corporate Workspace, scooped by West Lothian Civic Centre and Best Refurbished Workplace where Tanfield emerged on top. 141 Bothwell Street meanwhile netted the practice a Best Fit Out Award for office space for PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Archial meanwhile picked up an award for 141 Bothwell Street, voted Commercial Building of the Year.

West Lothian Civic Centre, which unites three public sector partner organisations under one roof, is also the sole Scottish project to go forwards to a natonal awards scheme this October.

Judging panel chairman John Shepard gushed that project served as a “prototype for the future of public sector offices.”

In their design BDP strived to break down the scale of the large building and focuses upon a linear glazed atrium.

Of course, nothing to do with Graham McClements (director BDP), being on the BCO judging panel. No, no, no...Nothing at all...

Suely the people on the judging panel should not be allowed to enter the competition? In an industry that is so closely knitted we need to be fair and above board.

Again, is this not the sort of information that should be getting screen time from Urban Realm instead of being nothing more than a free advert?
