Deramore Property Group are set to commence partial demolition of listed buildings at 121-123 Princes Street later this month after awarding the construction contract on their £35m Edinburgh hotel project to Gilbert Ash Contractors.

Designed by Archial Architects the scheme will see the insertion of a 30,000sq/ft New Look store over ground and first floor levels. Five upper levels will accommodate a 97 bed Premier Inn hotel.

It is planned to open the hotel in 2012, coinciding with construction of a nearby Primark store.

This is the second Archial project to commence on site in Edinburgh in recent weeks following demolition of Balfour Stewart House.
