MPS break into Perth jail
Design and engineering company Morgan Professional Services (MPS) are marking successful completion of the third and final phase of their £20.2 million redevelopment project for HMP Perth.

The scheme – which will be built by MPS sister company Morgan Ashurst for the Scottish Prison Service – will see the creation of a new purpose-built visitor complex and staff facilities building including staff dining, lounge and gym areas. An existing administration building and gatehouse complex will be refurbished while an existing hall will be demolished to make way for a new-build estates and stores building. The scheme will also involve the creation of landscaped external areas, a new access road, visitor car park and perimeter security wall. The work is set to be completed in spring 2010.

MPS is the architect and the civil / structural engineer for the scheme. The company is additionally carrying out the design team leader and CDM co-ordinator roles.  MPS also worked with Morgan Ashurst on the second phase of redevelopment work at HMP Perth
