A one-of-a-kind outdoor pool is set to make a splash later this year with the grand reopening of an Art Deco pavilion.

Tarlair outdoor pool has been closed since 1995 but will reopen later this year following extensive restoration by the Friends of Tarlair community group.

Directed by Studio Octopi with Heritage Architecture the works will see the boating and toddler pool reopen first with a supporting cafe set to reopen later in the summer.

The A-listed complex is set to become a year-round attraction, establishing supporting community, education and heritage for those not brave enough to take a dip.

Once these initial phases are complete attention will turn to the main swimming pool at the triple pool lido.

The £1.3m project is supported by Narro, KJ Tait and W.I Talbot.

The solitary figure staring out of that circular window is absolutely heartbreaking ...
