Significant expansion of the Highland village of Muir of Ord is on the cards with the submission of plans for 60 homes by Bracewell Stirling.

15 affordable properties are included in the housing mix by Tulloch Homes, the first phase of a larger plan for Wyndhill.

In a statement the applicant wrote: "The development layout aims to retain, where possible, key landscape features including the standing stone to the south and the stone wall which runs alongside the A862.

"The streetscape is generally defined by low level hedgerow planting to mitigate the visual impact of car parking. Frontage onto primary routes and open space will ensure the development has a positive outlook."

Updating an existing consent for the area with a new layout and housetypes the works will preserve a standing stone to the south of the site.

I've been sat here for 3 hours looking at the image and I have only just realised it is a render. The giveaway was somebody playing with a cat in Muir of Ord...

Genuinely looks like mid-war housing. 80 years out of date.
