Landmark Grantown-on-Spey distillery ready to drum up business

A new distillery in Grantown-on-Spey is ready for action after its handover by Morrison Construction to distillers Gordon & MacPhail.

The Cairn Distillery, designed by TGP and Norr, combines production and visitor facilities in a prime spot in Moray overlooking the River Spey toward the Cairngorms.

Features include a 900sq/m sedum roof carpeted in wildflowers to attract bees while helping the building to blend into its countryside setting.

Approved back in 2019 the distillery will open to the public later this year when on-site tasting rooms, a restaurant and a shop are complete.

A public footpath will connect the distillery to the broader Cairngorms National Park.

Do Robertson Construction staff regularly wear Morrison Construction fleeces or is there an error in this story?...!

#1 Unless I am mistaken I think that is Donald Mclachlan, MD of Morrison Construction https://www.morrisonconstruction.co.uk/about/our-leadership-team/#person-module-2712

I'll say this for NORR - they know how to knock a Distillery together. Dalmunach is a beauty.
