Durieshill 'supervillage' builds momentum

Springfield Properties has filed plans to erect an information centre and showhome estate at Durieshill, Stirling.

Consisting of a continuous wrapped standing seam metal wall and roof with a feature gable and integrated photovoltaic panels the hub will promote work to deliver a £650m 'supervillage' of 3,012 planned homes, including 896 flats.

The 593-acre residential-led project will ultimately include primary and secondary schools as well as a library, care home, parks and business space.

At the heart of the development will be a village centre comprising 15 shops, including a cafe, arranged around a civic space.

The project, on farmland near Plean, will be delivered in 15 phases of 200 homes over the next 30 years.

Shame their houses couldn't look more like this. That 'feature gable' though - what a shocker.
